About Cathy

Cathy was inspired with an entrepreneurial attitude at 5 years old selling small animals (hamsters, guinea pigs etc.) to pet stores. She worked in her father’s construction business, helped her grandmother plan events at their mini-camp, and at 15 launched her management and leadership training as an assistant camp director for people with disabilities.

Cathy has over 20 years in leadership, marketing, sales and management within the outdoor industry and business world.

Some experiences include all forms of sales positions from selling door to door, telemarketing, business to business, and planning and organizing events. She believes if you can sell meat or insurance door to door you can do anything!

While serving in the US Army in Germany Cathy was a flight medic responsible for over 200 troops, events director for the base, and had the distinct honor of leading a team in the international Nijmegen march. This is a 100-mile peace march with military teams selected from each country all over the world.

She holds a degree in Therapeutic & Outdoor Recreation Management, has been the director of summer camps, horseback riding specialist for Easter Seals, an EMT, ski patroller, and volunteer for Alpine Search and Rescue team. She considers it a privilege to have to have been an avalanche forecaster with CAIC (Colorado Avalanche Information Center and CDOT) and the first to hold the position of Avalanche and Explosives Coordinator and Avalanche safety instructor for the state of Colorado. Cathy also trained Angel (who will always be the love of her life) as a certified avalanche and wilderness rescue dog.

Every experience along the journey has brought her to where she is today with diverse business, leadership, and executives skills. Cathy is one of the co-founders of Brazen Businesswomen, (a local organization to empower and educate women business owners), owns a residential cleaning company, board member of the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce, and Owner of Wilderness Executives, a virtual assistant business that creates focused social media plans, coaches new VA’s, and simplifies the lives of business owners with a team of highly skilled VA’s. Cathy works ‘virtually’ with clients all over the world.

She is a Certified Social Media Specialist from VAClassroom which is a Training Center for internet and high demand skills needed for Virtual Assistants. Because social media is a fairly new industry Cathy takes at least 1-2 training classes each week, maintains daily contact with other social media and internet professionals, and works one-one with an internet business coach and consultant.
